The 2019 Victories
This fight didn’t start in 2025; it’s built on the efforts of several town council resolutions from 2019.
Back then, Burrillville kicked it off as Rhode Island’s first Second Amendment Sanctuary Town, followed by Hopkinton, West Greenwich, and Foster. They stood tall against the gun control agenda. They are the pioneers and continue to stand strong in this fight.
Why This Matters
Every town on this list is a victory. These resolutions are proof that our movement is serious and growing. Each resolution builds pressure on the state, showing we’re organized and ready to fight.
This is how we win: town by town, person by person. We stay engaged and battle on all fronts.
Keep It Going!
Nine towns is a huge start, and it’s up to us to keep the momentum going. Here’s how you can help:
- Contact Your Council Members: If your town isn’t on the list, reach out. Talk to your council members about the importance of defending your Second Amendment rights and encourage them to pass a resolution. Your voice matters.
- Show Up: Town council meetings are where these votes happen. Attend meetings, speak during public comment, and support council members who stand with us. Your presence makes a real impact.
- Spread the Word: Share this information on social media and with your friends. The more people who know, the stronger we become.
- Push Back: Support the Disaffiliation campaign by letting officials who oppose your rights know you’re taking action in the next election, especially in the Democratic primary where most Rhode Island races are decided.
- Join the Discussion Community: Connect with fellow advocates in the RI Gun Rights discussion community to stay informed and organized.
Help Us Stay in the Loop
Things are moving quickly, and new resolutions are popping up across the state. We’re doing our best to stay on top of every development, but we can’t be everywhere at once.
If you hear about a new resolution being proposed, or if you’re a resident or town council member with inside knowledge, please contact us. Your tips help us keep this information accurate, updated, and ready for action.
